Words have the power to encourage.

I look forward to the seasons and opportunities of offering hospitality. And because I love Jesus and His commands, I want everything I do to reflect that. I also encourage you to practice hospitality that brings glory to the Lord. I encourage you to love well the people that God has placed in your life. I encourage you to be hospitable to yourself.

#loved or #blessed are popular hashtags on social media. Although as daughters of the King and sisters in Christ, we might have good intention behind using them, have you noticed that they are used by those who don’t believe in Him too?

At your next opportunity, (because in our fallen world these opportunities come early and often), instead of handling one another in anger or frustration, let us humble ourselves and be completely gentle and bear one another in love.

You know that saying that goes “actions speak louder than words”?I’ve always had trouble totally agreeing with it, because my life experiences have proven to me that words matter. Actions are very important. Yes they are! But I believe words have a unique power all their own.

When people say and do hurtful things it makes me sad. Yes it affects me personally, but my hurt usually turns into sadness for them. I try not to focus on my hurt, but instead see them through God’s eyes.

Like most people I have very strong personal opinions about politics. But I’ve never bought into the idea that I have to chose a team. Please don’t misunderstand me - I vote, I support candidates and causes I believe in, but I try to always keep my eyes on God.

Love over everything. This is how I choose to live my life. I say choose because it’s not always easy. It’s what Jesus calls us to do. It’s the behavior He modeled for us when He walked on this earth among us. No matter the situation, no matter how He was treated, no matter someone else’s behavior, past history or sin, He treated them with love.

You know Him. You love Him, but in every relationship it’s important from time-to-time to go back to the beginning - to remember why you love them, what they mean to you, what they’ve done for you, the things you’ve been through together and to daydream about what your future holds.  Sometimes you need a fresh start, even with God.

You’re not perfect, but because you love Him and desire to know Him more and more, you are being perfected day-by-day. Be lead by the Spirit and inspired by the women of the Bible, not intimidated by them. You are loved unconditionally by God and worthy of that love.

Generosity is one of many godly traits associated with Christians. We give because we desire to help others and because so much has been given to us through forgiveness, grace, and redemption.
