Obedience brings peaces? Those are words I never imagined I would say.  I used to get anxious when someone would use the word obey or obedience. It had an extremely negative connotation in my mind. It was associated with losing control, being taken advantage of, and not being respected as an individual. But thankfully, as I matured, I began to understand obedience from a different perspective.  

What does being wealthy mean to you? Does it mean monetary wealth? Does it mean amassing material possessions?  I could throw a bunch of Christian scripture at you about riches and wealth, but instead, let me share some personal thoughts and #realtalk with you.

The other day my boss asked me how I liked my job. It was an interesting question because he knows that this is nowhere near where I expected to be at this point in my life.

I don't know about you, but somehow I've completely confused what I was taught about having a strong work ethic with the idea of constant hustle. Do you find yourself going and going, non-stop? Your hustling might be related to a different area of your life, but I hope that in sharing this journey of how God is showing me that having a strong work ethic doesn't mean that I have to hustle non-stop will help you find freedom too.

It’s just a few days before the first official day of Summer as I sit on our couch, writing this post. The weather has been a hot topic of discussion as my friends from coast to coast have commented on how it still feels like winter. Today it’s actually drizzling here, rain spotting the ground and outside my window one of our trees is steadily dropping its leaves. It reminds me of how life is, how sometimes even though we’re ready for the sun to shine, cold winds blow and storm clouds continue to loom.

I started this business from a desk in the corner of our living room. It’s a space I share with my husband when he’s watching TV, with our dog who has decided that the comfy rug under my desk is his bed and with piles of laundry every other week. It’s actually a pretty chaotic place to try to concentrate, especially when I frequently stop what I’m working on to read a prayer request, pray or try to listen for God’s leading on if the ideas that are flowing are in line with His Word.
