“How often do you let the size of a problem prevent you from seeking a solution?”
This profound question is posed by Dr. Tony Evans in his Bible study titled The Power of God’s Names. (The Power of God’s Names Member Book. Lifeway Christian Resources, 2014) . When I read it, all I could say was “WOW,” because my answer was immediately “pretty often.” The bigger the problem I face, the more discouraged I usually am and often my response to that huge problem is, “there’s nothing I can do about that.” My reaction is to just move on, accepting whatever may come. But that’s so wrong! Like you, I am the daughter of El Elyon, the Most High God, who is in control and has ALL power. So my solution, your solution, our solution is always Him.
No matter the size of the problem or situation, no matter the barriers we assume are in our way, we have no idea what God has planned.
So the next time you face a problem, a barrier, a disappointment, a speed bump in the road or the highest wall or scariest enemy, remember that you have a solution that is bigger and more powerful.
You have God on your side.
Like David when he faced Goliath, he didn’t focus on Goliath’s size, he focused on the size of his God, knowing that if he acted with courage and faced the giant of Goliath, God would be faithful and give him victory. Don’t let the magnitude of what you’re facing determine how you handle it. Instead focus on the size of our God.
